Water heater for your cabin
At the cabin, the heater has to suit both the electricity supply and seasonal use. Check the main fuse, and plan how the system will be drained if it may freeze.

When the cabin is empty
A conventional water heater at the cabin keeps 100 to 200 litres hot all week so you can shower on Saturday. That is 160 hours on standby for 4 hours of use. Cabins are also excluded from the electricity support scheme, so you pay the full price for every kilowatt hour.
If the tank is cold when you arrive, it takes hours to heat up. COAX gives you hot water as soon as you turn on the tap, even at eleven o'clock on a Friday night.

A COAX must be drained if it may be exposed to frost. Water that freezes can damage both a flow-through heater and a conventional water heater. A tank may hold 200 litres; a COAX holds a few decilitres.
The heater drains in a minute through a small ball valve. Most customers ask their plumber to fit it so it can be removed and taken home. Frost damage is not covered by the warranty.
Check the power supply first
The main fuse rating determines which models you can use:
- 16 A main fuse16 A gives less than 4 kW, which is only enough for a basin. We therefore do not recommend a flow-through heater for this cabin.
- 25 A single-phaseEnough for a kitchen tap and washbasin with our smallest model, but an electrician must fit a 32 A circuit. Shower water will only be lukewarm.
- 32 to 40 A single-phaseKitchen, washbasin and a basic shower. This is the most common power supply in the cabins we supply.
- Three-phase 400 V, 3×25 A or moreNew cabin developments often have this supply. It supports a full shower at 15 to 18 kW.

Water from a well, a stream or a cistern
Many cabins have low water pressure. A standard water pump fitted before the heater works well, provided it delivers enough water to activate the heater.
The voltage and main fuse are listed on the inside of the fuse box door. Take a photo and send it to us, and we will tell you what is possible.
