We have been selling hot water without a tank since 1993
COAX is a small Norwegian firm in Åros in Asker, run by Rune Karlsen. We help our customers choose a water heater and follow up with servicing and spare parts.
Who we are
COAX AS is run by Rune Karlsen from Åros by the Oslo Fjord. Rune has worked with flow-through heaters in Norway since the early nineties, first with the American brand Eemax, and since 1993 under his own name.
When you ring us, you speak directly with people who know the products. More often than not, we have helped a customer with a similar installation before.
From choosing a model to spare parts
We don't manufacture the heaters ourselves. They are made by a factory we have worked with for many years, and they are certified to EN 60335, the same safety standard that applies to all household appliances in Europe.
We select models for the Norwegian electricity grid and Norwegian water conditions, and help you find the right power output. If you need help after your purchase, you can ring us and order parts.
Who buys from us
Brødrene Dahl has been a customer of ours for over 20 years. Plumbers and electricians order through Brødrene Dahl, Ahlsell and Heidenreich. Private customers buy directly here on the site, or send us an email.
Our heaters are installed in mountain cabins at Gol, in treetop cabins in Odda, in municipal pump houses in Horten, in a hair salon, and in the outdoor shower at SALT in Oslo, where a single heater supplies two shower heads around the clock.
Why we believe in this
Norway heats water with electricity, and most of us do it in a tank that runs all day and night. We think that is a poor idea in a country where grid tariffs now penalise peak loads and where one in three has experienced a water leak at home.
Even so, a flow-through heater does not suit every setting. If you have 16 A at the cabin, we recommend keeping a tank. That is why we ask about the electricity supply before you order.
